Cambridge Break Away

Hi Strangers,

So here is another old post from 2016 ūüôā enjoy!

Day 1 of going to Cambridge – So on 17th September was mine and my other halves two year anniversary, so we booked the weekend away to Cambridge. I went there when I was younger but hardly remembered anything when we finally went there this year. To get to Cambridge we booked a coach as the coach was cheaper than train and it isn’t too far from where we live, as we live in Norwich so it was about 2 hours to get there. ¬†When we arrived we had a few hours to spare till we could check in at the Royal Cambridge Hotel so we went to the Grafton Centre to grab some lunch as it was about 11:30 is and I was starving so we went to the top of Grafton Center and went to Burger King. Half an hour later we had lunch! It was okay, well it is Burger King! After that we just looked around the Grafton Center and just around that area really, when it got to about 13:30ish we thought let’s find the hotel because we always like to check in on time, so we got there, it was a great location because it was about 5 minute walk both left and right to the Fitzwilliam Museum and the Cambridge University Botanic Gardens and about 10 – ¬†15 minute walk to the city center. The check-in was a bit of a worry when we got there… ¬†Due to the room wasn’t booked in my name… But it was booked under my Boyfriends name! But it was strange because I emailed them, paid and everything… So I must of some really put it under my Boyfriends name… ¬†That was a scary experience because after they found it… They said they didn’t have no rooms if they didn’t find it! I nearly pooped myself! Anyway, we got into the room and the room was nice, we had a sofa and it was very spacious. ¬†Which was lovely. We didn’t do too much exploring on the first night in Cambridge as we were tired! So we went to go get some dinner as we went back to the Grafton Center and went to Bella Italia, we like Bella Italia anyway, but let’s just say I got very tipsy because I was super tired!!

Day 2 of exploring Cambridge – So it was a Sunday for this second day, so we tried to have a lay in, but it never works we always end up waking up at 06:30, ¬†7:00 or 07:30 so after we woke we chilled out for a bit, played some games and then we got sorted and dressed before heading out to get some breakfast, we really fancied a bacon roll but hardly nowhere was open so we went to Gregg’s.. ¬†At 10:00 we had a bacon and sausage roll… ¬†Mhmmm. ¬†So after that, we went to explore some shops, the shops that we saw were more up to date with their signs then the ones we had in Norwich City. ¬†We went to the Grand Arcade which was really lovely, ¬†we went into the Lush store because in Norwich there is a really small one where the one in Cambridge was pretty spacious so I was really happy! After we did our explores in the morning we got hungry and went to Tescos to get some lunch and headed back to the hotel to eat it and rest our feet! (Think I’m missing a part here).. ¬†But we went to the river as I really wanted to go down the river and it was lovely, ¬†we saw a lot of rowers training, and the river was just peaceful. ¬†Before we got to the river we bumped into a field of cows… Just freely walking around while you walked near them… ¬†I have never seen this till now so it was definitely a strange experience. ¬†Anyway back to lunch. ¬†So after we finished lunch, we tried to think about what to do so we said we’ll let’s go to the museum, the Fitzwilliam ¬†Museum because it was free admission and it was something else to explore. ¬†The museum was pretty big but if you like art and pottery definitely the place to go. You could take pictures in the museum which normally most museums don’t let you, there were only two rooms that you couldn’t take photos in. ¬†The museum had taken us a while to go round so after we were done we went back to the hotel and rested up again. So it was about 15:00ish and we thought we’ll let’s go to the Cambridge University Botanic Gardens it was a five-minute walk from our hotel, so we got there and to be honest it’s really cheap to enter. ¬†¬£5 per adult. ¬†So I paid and I wasn’t really sure on how the place will be… But once we started walking around.. My goodness, it’s a beautiful place and definitely worth the money and time of going! We will definitely be going back but because it was a Sunday and we came there late we didn’t have a lot of time. ¬†Anyway there was a little cafe in the place and we stopped there for a little treat, we had a lovely brownie but we really wanted was a¬†Maltesers hot chocolate because it sounded lush… But they were out of stock (crying face) so we just had hot chocolate with cream which was still lovely but we had to rush it down because the place was closing at 6 and we were still there after 5 so we called it a day and said we will come back. ¬†So we got back to the hotel rested for a little and thought about dinner, we wanted somewhere close so we didn’t have to walk so much because we walked all day. ¬†So we decided Pizza Express, ¬†so we got there and I had Spag bol and Billy had a lasagna. We tried to have a dessert but we felt super sick because we had eaten all day, but the staff was lovely and the food was delicious! So after dinner, we went home and relaxed and went to bed.

Day 3 Leaving day -We got up early, as we wanted to check out by 9 so then we could explore more in the morning, so we got sorted and checked out. ¬†We went to M&S and had our breakfast, bacon roll and a cup of tea. Yum. So after that, I wanted to go get some fudge from the fudge store.. ¬†We got into the store and I do hate this… ¬†Is where the shop is so small and you have that awkward think about what you need to buy while the shopkeeper stares are you. ¬†The problem I had with the store was not all the fudge had their names on them… So I didn’t know what they were… ¬†But in the end, I bought, myself some dark chocolate sea salt fudge, Billy Salted Caramel fudge and my dad just plain vanilla fudge. In total it cost ¬£16. ¬†Before we came out of the shop they were cooking in front of which was cool, definitely cool to watch. ¬†After that, I needed to go get a postcard so I went to the shop next door to the fudge shop and got one as it is a tradition at work to get a postcard of when you travel somewhere haha. ¬†So really we just explored more around Cambridge, down all the little shops and we found more places that we haven’t fully explored so we will be coming back! It got to lunch time and we went to McDonald’s.. I don’t think I’ll ever go back… ¬†I don’t know if the dude had anything because it was creepy, there was a guy that worked there and he came up to me chatting when I sat down, asked my name, why I was in Cambridge and stuff… ¬†And it like did little nicknames to my name like melon Megan… ¬†It just felt creepy and really put me off going to that McDonald’s… So we quickly ate our lunch and left. ¬†After that, we didn’t have a lot to do… ¬†So we just went near the coach’s and sat on the grass for a while, we tried some of our fudge and the fudge was super hard to break and actually eat… ¬†Which was a bit of shame… ¬†Anyway, our coach was really late but apart from that. ¬†We loved Cambridge, we wouldn’t live there but we will come back to visit for sure.

York Holiday

Hi Strangers, so here is a post that I did a 2 years ago for our holiday in York. I hope you enjoy it!

So at the moment, we reserved a hotel room at Ascot House, ¬†looks like a lovely place, but will find out on the 13th October 16 (next Thursday at the time that I am writing this) the price I guess reasonable but not fully sure, it will cost us ¬£300 for three nights, guess not to bad, we booked our train tickets last week which cost us ¬£96 for there and back and for two people with a two together railcard, not too bad. ¬†Now we are just waiting to go and I can’t wait to write down my experience!!

(The countdown begins, don’t tell me you don’t do this too!)

Saturday 8th October 16 – 5 days left… Excited!

Sunday 9th October 16¬† – ¬†4 days left… Mwahahaha

Monday 10th October 16 – two days of work… That’s all

Tuesday 11th October 16- last day of work,  woo!!

Wednesday 12th October, 16 – I’M GOING ON HOLIDAY, IM GOING ON HOLIDAY TOMORROW!

Thursday 13th October¬†16 – so today is the day, ¬†let me get ready then I need to catch the bus to Norwich at 8:08 woo! This whole journey, I will be writing everything down on here as I do it so enjoy! At least I won’t forget about anything!!!

Of course, our first main stop is to go have some breakfast at M&S in Norwich, love their bacon rolls! After we finished our breakfast, I needed to go get some headphones as I forgot mine! And we wanted to go get some lunch and snacks but in the end, we didn’t really get snacks.. It’s now 12:12 and we are at the train station waiting for our train to Peterborough, ¬†then have to get another train to York.

Super excited but we are now waiting and our train leaves at 12:57.. Let’s see what we can do while we wait!! ¬†So we watched some YouTube, ¬†got on our train and ate some lunch that we got from Morrisons and now we are in Peterborough waiting for our train to York ūüėä.

I’m so annoyed with people and Virgin trains as we had reserved seats and people were sitting in our sits but we couldn’t do anything as we hate causing a scene but I think really the trains should check who’s sitting in the right places as the tickets person saw we had a reserved seats but didn’t say anything, eugh!! ¬†So we had to sit on the floor door the whole journey to York but at least it was just an hour and a half.

But we are now in York! Our room is lovely! We also got shown to our room which we have never had and the old man at the reception was ever so lovely and kind! He got us a map of York too and showed us the best way to get to the city.

So it is 18:52 and now about to go get some dinner! We have decided to go to Strada, we have been here before in Brighton , which was our first holiday and we had it on our first night in Brighton so we thought we would do it again but in York ūüėä.

Dinner was Yummy! We had a cheese burger and they chips were lovely! But now we are back at the hotel ready for bed! Goodnight! The exploring starts tomorrow!!

Friday ¬†14th October¬†– Good morning! So got up at 7:00 and had our breakfast at 8:30 which was nice, but I wasn’t keen on the sausage and bacon just had a weird taste to me! But that’s my opinion. ¬†The staff were lovely, had smiles on there faces and just was kind and sweet, we got served really quick and we only had to wait about 5-10 minutes for our breakfast, ¬†we had a full English breakfast as I didn’t say! Now we are just resting and soon to be going out exploring!!

We went out exploring and our first thing to do was look round the streets of York an see the markets, we then went to have a cup of tea and rest in M&S at around 11:30, we then walked across the city walls which we saw some lovely places while on there.

We then went to the York Minister which I nearly set myself on fire because I was stupid and put my coat near a fire while trying to find a place to put a candle! But it was lovely, ¬†alot of things to see and read about. ¬†We then went to go grab some lunch at about 15:00 and we just went to KFC but we wasn’t very keen as the chips were cold and I didn’t enjoy it.. We then went to the National Railway Museum which we didn’t stay to long because we were tired but we saw a few things there and the trains were massive!! I’m a tiny small person, ¬†I’m only 4’10 so when I saw them I thought they were Hugh! Anyway, we went back to the hotel and we are now currently resting and thinking about dinner and what to do tomorrow!

For our dinner we had Bella Italia as we normally go to a Bella Italian,  the food was nice and the staff made it feel very welcoming and when we were leaving alot of the said Bye so that was nice. But now we are back in the hotel. Goodnight!

Saturday 15th October¬†– Good Morning, our last full day in York today, we had a shower and went down for breakfast which again was nice ūüėä. So got back into our room and settled our bellies for half and hour and planned our day. ¬†We decided that we wanted to explore the shops this time and there was a wonderful soap store, definitely worth seeing, ¬†I also brought a postcard as in my department at work , we buy postcards for whenever we travel, ¬†so just brought a simple postcard of York Minister. ¬†We went back to York Minister as we didn’t explore everything in the Minster. ¬†Now we are having lunch/dinner at Ask Italian, which is so so big because it’s a museum.. And when you first go in, ¬†it actually looks like a gift shop but the restaurant is ever so beautiful and the food was delicious and of course, we had our favorite mango sorbet. Yum yum.

So after lunch/dinner, we looked round more shops and I got a present for my dad and my friend. We wandered more of the streets of York there is so much to explore but York is very expensive as we didn’t have a lot of money to get into museums or anything like that so if you want to go to York make sure to bring a lot of money! With each holiday we do we learn more and more which is great. ¬†Anyway, after that we went to Tescos got our dinner which was just a meal deal and then just chilled at the hotel for the whole night.

Sunday 16th October

Good morning again, today is the day that we go back home! We are so sad to see York go! We will probably come back in a few years time! Anyway, let’s have some breakfast.

Now we are at the train station waiting for our train which is 10:57. Let’s go home…so we got into Peterborough and we had to get a coach to Ely due to some works going on, the coach driver used one of the sat navs which lead us down the country side roads.. Which I hated because it was so many bumps and all sorts, ¬†a lady and her husband got off and she looked like she was going to be sick. We had to be at the Ely train station to catch our train for 14:10 and we ended up being 15 minutes late, so we missed our train and we missed another train as we had one minute to get to the other side of the train station, ¬†so we was at the train station at 14:20 our next train was 15:10. ¬†I got really upset due to my anxiety and I hate being late.. But our train tickets were fine for the train we got as that was another worry of mine.. But now on the train and should be in Norwich at 16:14 and then I have to catch a bus home.. So yeah.. That was fun. ¬†Thank you for reading our holiday trip. ¬†This is going to be lovely for us to come back and read this. ¬†I will put up more photos on here later in the week.

Morning/Afternoon or Evening Person

Hi Strangers,

Hope you are all okay!? So this topic is about if I am a morning/afternoon or evening person, but my second question for you strangers is what are you? Let me know in the comments and why that is!?

So I think I am so much better in the afternoon/evening than the morning! I just feel more active in the afternoon than the morning, in the morning I tend to feel sick and extremely¬†tired and just can’t be bothered to do anything, where in the afternoon/evening I am more awake and I’ll be moving about more so I tend to do my cleanups, blogs etc more in the afternoon. For my job that I do which is care, I prefer¬†the afternoon shifts over the morning shifts, I honestly just can’t wake up in the morning haha! I also end up having more meetings and appointments¬†in the afternoon which gives me plenty¬†of time to plan and sort out things before I head off out.

So what are you? are you a morning/afternoon or evening person!

This blog is short and sweet and I hope you enjoy it!

Do I Care About Fashion

Hi Strangers,

Do you think I care about fashion? Do you care about fashion? Do I care about fashion? The simple answer for myself is no I don’t. I dress the way that I want to dress, I don’t care about what other people say about my fashion sense, I love to wear odd socks, I hate wearing a matching pair, I love wearing jeans, I don’t wear skirts or dresses, I love mismatching clothes. But this is me, my family is much into their appearance¬†and caring how they look…¬†so I am like the black sheep of the family because I don’t care and I have been called some names for it. I chose what I wear because I want to feel comfortable with myself, I don’t want to pretend who I am, if you don’t like the clothes I wear then fine, I am not living in the world to make that person happy, I live for myself and that you should make the world yours because you never know when the day will be your last and you might as well do the things, dress the way that you want to. Don’t let anyone stop you! Be you and be happy. I don’t wear makeup because I don’t like it, and I will not wear it to interviews or going out events because I want people to see me… for who I am,¬† so what I am really trying to say is be you, be proud of who you are and be happy! If you love fashion or don’t then let me know, I would love to hear your reasons behind it, it’s great seeing the joys that people get when talking about what they love.

Thanks for reading!

Never Have I Ever..

Hi Strangers,

So I thought I would play the game of Never Have I Ever. You can play along too this way we get to know each other a little bit more! So here is the questions and my answers! Enjoy!

  1. Never have I ever fallen down in public because I was drunk – No I have never done this because I don’t hardly drink, I only have two drinks at the most and that is when I am at home with people I am comfortable with, I don’t go out drink – (Boring people would say but I don’t care, that is just how I live my life!)
  2. Never have I ever stayed in bed all day – of course I have done this! I think a lot of people would do this one, I think I live pretty much in my bed when I have days off!
  3. Never have I ever rested my hands down my pants for added warmth РYes I have done this, especially when your really cold and you know what place will be warm so you just put your hands down there to get warm
  4. Never have I ever snuck things in my bra – No I have never put any items in my bra… I think it would annoy me because I would feel that it is there and wouldn’t be able to cope with it.
  5. Never have I ever fallen asleep at the movies – Yes I have..¬†I fell asleep when watching…¬†Narnia..¬†yup.. sorry to anyone that loves the movies but I found it boring enough to fall asleep to it…
  6. Never have I ever been on a plane – Nope I have never done this…¬†22 years old and I still have never been on a plane, gone abroad. I’m terrified.
  7. Never have I ever met someone famous РYes I have! which I think a lot of people would/will have in their life, I have met Nick Knowles, Reggie Yates, Jimmy Carr etc РPhotos to follow!
  8. Never have I ever had a bad fall because I was walking and texting – Thankfully no I have never done this, I am careful when on my phone in public because that just seems so embarrassing!
  9. Never have I ever worked with someone I hated – Yes I have, I think at some point in a lot of peoples lives this will happen. It can be hard and awkward but when it comes to work you have to keep it to yourself and just get on with your job.
  10. Never have I ever worked at a fast food restaurant – No I have never done this \(yet) I think that I wouldn’t be able to cope and I have a rubbish memory so I probably¬†just mess it all up and have angry customers!

Well, there we are if you have any questions for me than ask away and I’ll do a blog post about the questions and the answers to them! Thanks for reading.

The Top 9 Things I Can’t Stand!

Hi Strangers,

Thought I would do a little blog on the things that I just can’t stand, this gives you some information on me and I hope you would be able to share some of the things that you just can’t stand!

9. Loud Eating – I just can’t stand it, I hate being in the same room when someone is eating loudly and I know that they can’t control it, it just really gets to me of where I want to leave the room…

8. Pulling Out The Hair From A Hairbrush – I hate getting the hair out of a hairbrush, I don’t know why but I can’t stand touching it, I think it the texture and pulling the hair from the brush that does it for me… so I have to get other people to clean it out…

7. Using A Phone Loudly On The Bus – When people are on their phone talking to someone but they speak really loudly so everyone on the bus can’t help but hear it, sometimes I have heard people talking about private things but talking so loudly that everyone can hear it..¬†can you please wait until your off the bus to have the conversation¬†or try to talk quietly!

6. Rubbers – Rubbers that don’t actually work and instead of rubbing out, they make a big smudgy mess!

5. Talking To Family – When you’re talking to a family member and you find something funny.. and then they go into a massively over the top explanation of why it’s not funny and you’re just like..¬†okay…

4. Not Using The Indicators – When people are driving and they don’t use their indicators, so you see a car and you think it’s going straight, walk a little to cross the road and then they turn with no signal! Like there is a reason for the INDICATORS!

3. Jeans – When you think that you know the size of what Jeans that you can fit in, then you go into a different store in case you see some other jeans you like but when you try on the size you know that fits and THEY DONT FIT!

2. Cotton – I can’t stand the texture of cotton¬†balls or cotton¬†ear buds, they are horrible and makes feel sick

1. Stairs With Gaps – I hate stairs with gaps where you can easily catch your feet up and trip up, they also really scare me on how steady they really are…

Thanks for reading, please come share with me what you can’t stand, we might share some!
